What I Wore: Jan 15

This is actually what I wore yesterday, but it was such a crazy day that I'm posting it today. I went to a sex convention downtown, so I had to dress up in "my sexiest costume," which ended up being a bustier, leggings, 3/4 length black gloves and cat ears. After that, I went to my friend's house and drank some wine and watched Get Him To The Greek, which was funny but shot so awkwardly.

Anyways, this is what I wore for part of the day:

sweater by George (from Wal-Mart, hahaha), bustier by La Senza, pants by Harlow.

A Girl Can Dream: Jan 14

Outfit 011

dress by Zac Posen, stockings by Leg Avenue, shoes by Christian Louboutin, hair piece by Black Stargazer, lipstick by Elizabeth Arden, cigarette case by Squidoo.

I watched The Edge of Love last night, starring Kiera Knightley, Sienna Miller and Cillian Murphy, and I absolutely loved the costumes, especially the ones worn by Kiera in the first half of the movie (I won't spoil it for you, you should watch it yourself.) Here's a bit of a modern update on a classically beautiful 1940s look.

Music: Crystal Castles & The Faint

Music has always been a really big part of my life, since I was really young. This love sometimes meshes with my love of fashion, and when I'm listening to a song, I think about how great it would be as a song for the runway of my mythical fashion line that I always dream of creating.

I found this song by Crystal Castles featuring Robert Smith last night, and I haven't stopped listening to it since. Love at first listen, for sure. Wouldn't it be great to walk down the runway to!?!?!?

The first song that I felt this with was Dust by The Faint featuring Bright Eyes. I just feel like it would be so sick to open a show with.

I don't know, maybe I'm just weird and I'm the only person who thinks about stuff like that.

What I Wore: Jan 12

Back to a normal photo today (I told you I'd alternate!). Today I had class and then a list of things I wanted to do in the evening before I went out for a potluck, but so far I've done none of those things. Ohhhh well.

Coat by BB Dakota, dress by Truly Madly Deeply, leggings by American Apparel, socks by Roots, boots by Steve Madden.

Inspiration: Somewhere

Outfit 010

strapless dress by Forever 21, tie waist dress by Marc by Marc Jacobs, sweater by See by ChloƩ, striped top by Dear Fieldbinder, pants by Marc by Marc Jacobs, sandals by ChloƩ, knapsack by Marc by Marc Jacobs, sunglasses by Tom Ford.

Elle Fanning is, without a doubt, the coolest twelve year old around. I watched Somewhere yesterday, directed by Sofia Coppola, and I was struck by how sophisticated Fanning's character was, while still being youthful. I decided to create a mini-wardrobe inspired by the film.
